Trade report suggests Cold Winter developer will shortly become part of the Vivendi-Universal stable...
UK trade publication, MCV, is today reporting that Vivendi-Universal sit on the verge of yet another acquisition, this time around focussing on the UK based Swordfish Studios. Established after the collapse of Rage in September 2002, Swordfish has recently concluded development on Vivendi-Universalâ??s spy-thriller, Cold Winter; prior to this came Acclaimâ??s World Championship Rugby, while development commences on Hip Interactiveâ??s Rugby â??06 and Codemasters Brian Lara International Cricket.
If the acquisition moves forward it marks the latest in a recent flurry of consolidation from Vivendi-Universal, whoâ??ve recently brought both Radical Entertainment and Swinging Ape Studios under its belt as internal studios.
Weâ??ll have confirmation soon.
