Former Relic team forms new studio; mini-ARG leads to the identity of the British Columbia-based outfit...
The alien alphabet, sonar screens, and cryptic passwords of Exoriare.com have finally revealed their secret: a new development studio based in British Columbia, Canada.
Called 'Smoking Gun Interactive', the new outfit is made up of former Relic employees, John Johnson, Drew Dunlop, and Angie Pytlewski, all of whom played prominent roles in the development of Relic's Company of Heroes for THQ.
"The team at Smoking Gun has worked passionately together for over 7 years, building teams that have created the most critically acclaimed games in their genre." said John Johnson CEO and Creative Director, "As the industry evolves so do the ways that people interact with video games. With our collective input Smoking Gun will be at the forefront of producing innovative best-selling titles, that really push the envelope further than we've gone before".
The studio is yet to announce their debut project, but the team has worked on a number of titles in the past, including FIFA, Need for Speed, and Homeworld - and 2006's Company of Heroes, of course.
