City of Villains

Coming soon for free to all active City of Heroes and City of Villains subscribers, Issue #7 "Destiny Manifest" is set to bring a raft of new missions, power sets, and base features together with two new high level zones: the City of Villains exclusive Grandville, and Recluse's Victory which will be available for both City of Heroes and City of Villains gamers alike.

In a UK exclusive, NCSoft describes the vertical zone of Grandville, a Player vs. Environment (PvE) zone which contains Spider City the capital of Arachnos, and the infamous Lord Recluse himself!

Issue 7 - "Destiny Manifest" Featured Zone: Grandville Levels: 40-50 Gameplay: PvE (Player vs. Environment) Available: Coming Soon Cost: Free for all Active Subscribers

Short Description: A vertical zone, Grandville contains Spider City, the capital of Arachnos(tm), where players encounter mutated Arachnoids and a huge new cast of characters including Lord Recluse(tm) himself!

Extended Description Rising from the gritty streets, slate grey buildings ascend into the sky, blotting out the sun and driving Grandville into the blackness of perpetual night. Among the shadows, the city is a dense jungle of skyscrapers linked together by walkways and bridges. Below are the castaways, infiltrators, and mutated creatures too terrible to mention. Above are the less wild but more cunning hunters, like spiders waiting to pounce.

Because it is so small, rather than grow outward, the island was forced to build upward, leaving those with the least power cast-off at the lowest levels of the city's strata. Already fortress like, when Lord Recluse took over the region he chose Grandville as the location for his capital and built himself a massive watchtower complex called the WEB. Now Recluse's citadel soars above this stratified city, the pinnacle atop a ladder of power.

Passing through the streets of Grandville it is possible to catch an occasional glimpse into the Gutters below. Through imperfect junctions, missing grates, and open sewage pits, a vertigo-inducing drop plunges into the darkness of the Gutter where the dredges of Grandville lurk. Unable to effectively control the creatures hidden here, Recluse has an Arachnos Flier patrol the area, its only goal to annihilate all living things in its path.

With the completion of Grandville, Recluse has spun his web and now lays hidden, luring those he seeks to destroy, a patient hunter setting his trap for an unsuspecting prey.

We'll have more soon...

I recently purchased from Offgamers. It has been a great experience. The prices were rock bottom and their customer support is outstanding. It took a total of 2 days to get my complete order. I was very pleased. I will order from them again and if you are looking for a dependable seller please check these guys out you won't be disappointed.

They still won't learn though. They talk about bonuses, but still won't say what the bonuses are. So the bonus will be :Slight increase to Accuracy. What is slight? 2%? 5%? And for that matter, what was Accuracy in the first place? They will say Slight Reduction to Recharge Time...what was my recharge time to begin with? in CoH/CoV you have a character sheet without numbers and you play blind. Can you imagine sitting at a pen and paper session with the DM telling you that you have Good Agility and Average Strength? But the Average Strength actually works out to be more than Good Agility, although you'd never know without agonising hours of trial and error. A common example: The DM rolls the dice behind his little screen for all your actions then announces that you miss all your ranged attacks. Player: But I thought I had Good Dexterity you say. DM: Yes well actually...*whispers* If you really really want to know, and you don't have to you bad bad number cruncher you...Good Dexterity is actually a number between 6 and 8..for Dexterity. But it's a number between 10 and 14 for Strength though. Player: But if I'd known that I wouldn't have bothered to get the sword of Strength, I'd have gotten the Sword of Superior Agility! DM: *waves hand dismisively* Oh...never mind...we're having fun here.Besides, I change the numebers from patch to patch anyways. Player: Yes but that doesn't matter, you can still tell me what they are, you know what they are. DM: Bah..you think I want you figuring everything out? Ok so anyways ,the monster attacks...*hidden dice roll*...Ok you're hit..for 20 damage. You're dead. Player: What!? 20 Damage? What about my Resistances? DM: Oh..well..your resistance wasn't really that high. It was just Moderate. Player: So now I'm dead? If I'd know what my resistance REALLY was I would have made different choices! DM: Bah! Now you're talking like a power gamer. What does it matter...you get teleported back to the city...go back and run the whole mission again. Or better yet, you can stand and fight this same monster 100 times with different items and through trial and error try to guess your actual resistance, and then tell everyone else. We're teaching you scientific reasoning here too,you can take these skills to the bank man! Course...whatever number you figure out will probably change with the next patch. Ha! Ha! Ha! Player: But..But.. That's CoH/CoV. That's called : 'Casual Play Friendly'. -Veteran Rewards CoH/CoV Player, 18 Months.
