Marvel & NCSoft Settle Differences News

Not about money but the rights of Spider-Man and The Incredible Hulk...

Marvel Entertainment, NCSoft Corporation and Cryptic Studios today settled its dispute over alleged copyright infringement within the popular superhero MMO title.

The comic-book creator behind the likes of Spider-Man, The Incredible Hulk, X-Men and many others filed a claim for damages and an injunction in November 2004, claiming that player created characters were too similar to its own intellectual properties.

Today's announcement refuses to disclose terms of the agreement however both parties agree that the case was never about monetary issues but about the importance of protecting IP rights.

Either way both parties assure the fans of both respective products and characters are the winners from the outcome, however it's worth remembering that Marvel have teamed up exclusively with Microsoft Game Studios to develop a MMO based on their brands.

I dont care what the primaries and secondaries are but it would be nice if each primary for an AT had a secondary that made sense with it. Stone for Doms, fine but what the heck do you match to it? Also I would have loved to have seen Doms get Illusion control. The idea of trickery and false images just seems more a senaky vilian thing to me.
