Marvel Enterprises claim NCSoft and Cryptic Studios are using superheroes that bear too many similarities to their own…
TVG has today learnt of Marvel Enterprises Inc. plans to sue NCSoft and Cryptic Studios, in a lawsuit that alleges the two companies have violated Marvelâ??s trademark characters in the MMO PC title, City of Heroes.
The popular online title which has yet to see a release across Europe, allows players to design their own super-heroes and battle against others in a virtual city.
Marvel Enterprises are seeking unspecified damages and an injunction against the two companies to stop using characters that bear too much resemblance to the likes of The Hulk, X-Men and many others.
Given that the choice is up to the player when it comes to creating the characters, the result of this lawsuit should certainly be interesting.

Personaly I'm a flavor player. I dont care what the primaries and secondaries are but it would be nice if each primary for an AT had a secondary that made sense with it. Stone for Doms, fine but what the heck do you match to it? Also I would have loved to have seen Doms get Illusion control. The idea of trickery and false images just seems more a senaky vilian thing to me.
