City of Heroes Lawsuit – Cryptic Responds News

Cryptic Studios release a comment predicting a favourable outcome to Marvel Enterprises recent legal action...

Cryptic Studios, the team behind NCSoftâ??s popular online title City of Heroes, today responded to the lawsuit currently filed against them by Marvel Enterprises Inc.

Seeking an injunction against the use of characters that bear a close resemblance to their own superhero characters such as the X-Men and The Incredible Hulk, Cryptic Studios today stated:

â??As reported by The Associated Press, Marvel Enterprises Inc. and Marvel Characters, Inc. have sued NCsoft Corporation and Cryptic Studios. The complaint is meritless. Cryptic Studios is confident that the District Court will reject all of Marvel's claims and fully vindicate Cryptic Studios in all respects.â?

Naturally the outcome of the decision will be highly interesting, given the fact that character creation is very much in the hands of the player and not determined by either Cryptic Studios or NCSoft; weâ??ll have more information soon.

I dont care what the primaries and secondaries are but it would be nice if each primary for an AT had a secondary that made sense with it. Stone for Doms, fine but what the heck do you match to it? Also I would have loved to have seen Doms get Illusion control. The idea of trickery and false images just seems more a senaky vilian thing to me.
