New IP confirmed by the team behind console ports of The Sims and Tony Hawks for Nintendo 64...

Having spent their years creating ports for the likes of Activision and Electronic Arts, Texan studio Edge of Reality has today announced that it's currently developing an original IP for Xbox 360 and PlayStation3.

Military combat title 'Cipher Complex' sees players control Operative John Cypher as he hunts down the perpetrator of a fallen satellite behind enemy lines, though beyond that details on the game are rather thin on the ground.

"The evolution of action games has seemed to plateau, perhaps because of the emphasis on sequels," said Binu Philip, President of Edge of Reality. "We are exploring and developing brand new styles of gameplay and methods of storytelling. The concept and mechanics of Cipher Complex have been incubating in our mind for years, and with power of the next-gen consoles, we can finally make our dream project a reality."

We'll have more on Cipher Complex shortly..
