Wii Fit tops the UK charts for the 12th week in total as we try desperately to think of a new exercise related pun...

We've literally done them all: Wii Fit Does Four Star Jumps, Another Rep At No.1 For Wii Fit, and Wii Fit Shows Stamina are but three of the headlines we've run to label Wii Fit's ongoing chart dominance and, to be honest, we've run out of fitness related puns.

This is now the 12th week in total that Nintendo's Wii Fit has spent at the top of the UK charts and, while the stay may not have been continuous (this is its third week in succession), the fact that its first No.1 was a year ago is indicative of the title's longevity in terms of sales.

Wii Fit retained the No.1 spot despite a 30% drop in sales following the Easter rush and rest of the top five experienced similar diminishing returns this week as well. EA's The Godfather II stood fast at No.2 despite a 30% sales drop, FIFA 09 rose two places to No.3 (sales down 17%), Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games slipped to No.4 (-35%), and Resident Evil 5 moved down one place to No.5 (-30%).

The remainder of the top ten corralled the usual suspects, with Professor Layton at No.6, Mario Kart Wii at No. 7, Wii Play at No.8, Call of Duty: World at War down three places to No.9, and Carnival: Funfair Games rounding off an impressive top ten for the Wii as the most significant mover and shaker (from No.16 to No.10).

It's all quiet on the western front for most of the major platform holders on Chart Track's all formats chart, which tabulates game sales according to platform rather than merely title. While the PS3 and DS registered the same number of titles on the chart as last week and the PSP/PS2 failed to get a mention, there were slight movements for the Xbox 360, Wii, and PC.Top 40 (Format Frequency)

The Xbox 360's impressive performance in the sales by format chart last week was curtailed this time around. Football Manager 2009's re-emergence into the chart lopped one Xbox 360 game off the list, while Nintendo's Wii pinched another one, pegging it just behind Microsoft's console.
