Eidos adopts a bold 'Pay What You Want' strategy for the resurrection of Champ Man...
Following a similar move to Radiohead and testing the waters of digital downloads, Eidos today announced a 'pay what you want' strategy for Champisonhip Manager 2010.
From tomorrow, PC gamers can put in a pre-order for the full title and pay as much as necessary, whether that's full whack or a single penny. As Eidos points out, it's quite a charitable move considering the transfer fees currently circulating in the real world.
Although ultimately we see it as a smart move to distance itself from Champ Man's recent history and signal a new charge towards Sports Interactive's dominant Football Manager series.
"This is the best Championship Manager the studio has ever made and we want as many people as possible to try the full new game," said Championship Manager General Manager Roy Meredith.
The promotion begins from tomorrow until September 10th, so simply head over to www.champmanstore.com and pay whatever you choose - including the mandatory £2.50 transaction fee.

There certainly was little between Champ Man and FM last season. Champ Man had the innovative new features, while FM was still the one to beat in terms of gameplay. Nonetheless, Champ Man 2010's gameplay still took huge strides forward from Champ Man '08.

Waste of time. Disc won't read and going by the other issues listed below, this game seems riddled with problems. It's in the bin where it belongs.
Note to developer: If you're going to take on the FM series, begin with a game that actually works. I won't be buying any of your products ever again.
