Eidos pushes back the release date of Championship Manager 2009 by at least three months...
Everything was looking good for Eidos' next crack on goal with Champ Man 2009. When we went to see the game earlier in the year, we were pleasantly surprised by the overhaul that Beautiful Game Studios were making to the besieged series.
This year's installment has now suffered a crippling cruciate ligament injury though, with the title's already very late April 09 release window being moved back to July at the earliest. Eidos' CEO, Phil Rogers, explains:
"Eidos has a total commitment to producing the highest quality games and we believe by moving the release date of Championship Manager we will give the product the additional time needed to deliver a more polished and highly competitive game within the genre.
"We will not compromise on quality," he continues, "and we are confident that this decision is right for consumers and will benefit the continued popularity of this franchise."
That's all very well and good, but by July of this year the developers will have completely missed the 08/09 season. All the Premiership teams will be in pre-season training for next year by that point, which begs the question: why not just cut your losses and call it Championship Manager 2010?

There certainly was little between Champ Man and FM last season. Champ Man had the innovative new features, while FM was still the one to beat in terms of gameplay. Nonetheless, Champ Man 2010's gameplay still took huge strides forward from Champ Man '08.

Waste of time. Disc won't read and going by the other issues listed below, this game seems riddled with problems. It's in the bin where it belongs.
Note to developer: If you're going to take on the FM series, begin with a game that actually works. I won't be buying any of your products ever again.
