OK so it’s not exactly news, however EA has shed a few more details on the forthcoming movie adaptation…
Having been busy with a number of publishing announcements in recent weeks, it’s no wonder that details slipped out about ‘Catwoman’ before the games official announcement.

However EA today took the opportunity to officially announce the title and release the first details, of the multi-format feature film adaptation, currently in development at Argonaut Studios.

Gamers take control of the feisty feline female as they play through the events of the movie, utilising her unique catlike skills, sense and cunning to defeat enemies. It’s claimed that the main character has a wide variety of acrobatic skills; able to leap across rooftops, run up walls, pounce on prey, utilise inimitable ‘cat senses’ and avoid bullets with feline grace – we’re expecting a fluid 3rd person action/adventure title along similar lines to ‘Prince of Persia: Sands of Time’.

Along with her wide range of acrobatic manoeuvres, she can also use her whip to swing through the air, whilst it’s also been claimed that the environments are completely interactive, which should make fights look visually appealing.

"Catwoman is a great complement to EA's portfolio of global blockbusters and we look forward to delivering a great game based on the film," said Bruce McMillan, EA Executive Vice President worldwide studios. "We're also happy to extend our relationship with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Comics."

"As we have enjoyed successful ventures with EA, we are looking forward to continuing the relationship with Catwoman," said Jason Hall, Senior Vice President, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. "The action, adventure, storyline, and characters in the film offer fertile ground for the development of compelling games."

"The dynamic visuals of Catwoman in action present an opportunity for a uniquely styled videogame," said Paul Levitz, President & Publisher of DC Comics. "We look forward to seeing how the wizards at EA translate the visual excitement of the film into their medium."
