The Japanese publisher has added a French subsidiary to its existing European operations in Germany and the UK...

In order to expand its European operations, Capcom has announced a new subsidiary in the territory that will be based in France. The new offices will join existing European subsidiaries in Germany and the United Kingdom.

"Capcom is particularly interested in capturing a greater share of the video game software market in Europe, which has recently been growing rapidly," the company announced. "To accomplish this, Capcom must improve profitability by establishing a direct sales organization and reinforce its marketing organization at bases in Europe."

Capcom's US operations have been built up since 1985, when Capcom U.S.A. Inc. was formed. The Osaka based publisher has only moved into Europe in recent years with its UK arm opening in 2002 and the German division coming to fruition a year later.
