Capcom Digs Up Brands For Natal News

Capcom has become the latest publisher to begin revealing details on its commitment to Project Natal.

"We're gonna make a 'gamers game' for Natal using something amongst our brand history," Capcom's Christian Svensson told G4 at the recent CES event.

"A brand focus ... perhaps a brand we haven't seen in a while," he added.

Given such information it's easier to work out what it probably won't be.  We can probably rule out the likes of Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, Mega Man and Street Fighter on account of their recent appearances; Final Fight is making an appearance in the forthcoming XBLA/PSN title and it's unlikely Capcom will ever want to return to Bionic Commando following its lukewarm reception.  In terms of brands that leaves the likes of Power Stone and Viewtiful Joe, both of which are pretty frenetic titles that would pose a serious workout on Natal.

The bottom line is we don't have a clue what Capcom is working on, although Svensson did state that the title won't be ready for the Christmas 2010 launch of Project Natal.  "We're gonna cook something and it's gonna to take a while to cook," Svennsson concluded.
