World At War Edges Closer To Xmas No.1 News
It's now five weeks atop the UK charts for CoD: World at War, with only one more week until Christmas...
By Gwynne DixonPosted: 16/12/2008
Activision's Call of Duty: World at War has once again shown why it's the 3-1 favourite to retain the Christmas number 1 spot on Chart Track's UK all format sales chart, with this week's chart bringing the shooter in at the top of the pile for the fifth week running.
While the Christmas number 1 will be crowned with next week's chart results, CoD: World at War's refusal to budge from the top spot for the last five weeks would make it the longest running, uninterrupted, chart topping run-in for Christmas number 1 in Chart Track history, if it were to retain the spot next week.
With a 1% sales rise over last week's figures, World at War sold 27,000 more units than its nearest rival on the charts, Mario Kart Wii, which would be the first game to secure a Christmas number 1 spot for Nintendo in 10 years (Zelda: Ocarina of Time on N64) if it were to move up a place next week.
Unsurprisingly for this time of the year (where very few new games are released after November's rush), this week's top ten is filled with the same titles as last week, albeit with a few games playing musical chairs over their positions on the chart.
There were no new entries in this week's top 40 either, although a few games made sizeable strides forward over their performance last week: Sonic Unleashed jumped from 33 to 12, Quantum of Solace moved from 27 to 13, and LittleBigPlanet went from 29 to 16 with its sales up 58% (enough for the game to leapfrog World at War and Resistance 2 into the number 1 spot on Chart Track's PS3 chart).

Have it for DS...Great game. I go online Wi-Fi: play for a while, and it says COMMUNICATION ERROR. IDK why but it seems to do that for no reason after playing the game online for a while. It is Unnacceptable. No reason to be having those while I'm online.
