Series' creator regains exclusive control of Call of Duty after the release of CoD5...
After the generally mixed reception towards TreyArch developed Call of Duty titles, it seems the series' renowned creator is demanding what everybody in the world bar Activision realises - only Infinity ward should make CoD titles.
Reporting from statements attributed to a former Activision employee, Next-Gen.biz claims that Infinity Ward has renegotiated its contract with Activision in order to become the sole developer of the series, after the release of TreyArch's Call of Duty 5.
Activision has enlisted other studios in the past to bolster Infinity Ward's output, presumably depending on annual Call of Duty releases for its fiscal reports that would put too much pressure on a single studio.
Next-Gen further states that the recently closed Activision Underground (previously Z-Axis) were developing a third-person title that would sit under the Call of Duty banner, allowing Activision the luxury of two CoD titles every year. It seems Infinity Ward had enough however and decided to stand up for the integrity of the Call of duty brand - good for them we say.
As a result, it's suggested that the contract renegotiation granting Infinity Ward exclusive rights was a primary reason behind the decision to close Activision Underground, whose only other work is the reportedly late and over budget PS3 port of Quake Wars: Enemy Territory.
One thing's for sure, Call of Duty 6 is going to be interesting, following the answers available to a recent survey as to where CoD fans would like the next game set.

Have it for DS...Great game. I go online Wi-Fi: play for a while, and it says COMMUNICATION ERROR. IDK why but it seems to do that for no reason after playing the game online for a while. It is Unnacceptable. No reason to be having those while I'm online.
