Activision's Dave Stohl fails to confirm that Modern Warfare 3's development is ongoing at Infinity Ward...
Activision's Executive Vice-President of Studios, Dave Stohl has failed to confirm that Modern Warfare 3 is still in development at Infinity Ward and suggested that Activision may look to get the studio working on "great new franchises in the future".
Speaking in a recent interview with VG247, Stohl was asked whether Infinity Ward will still be focussing on the Call of Duty series, to which he responded, "We're not saying right now. There is definitely a strong shooter philosophy there, for sure. And I think that there's a short- and long-term view on the whole thing. But I think we're rebuilding a studio that can go off and build great new franchises in the future."
In both Activision's counter-suit of Jason West and Vince Zampella (Infinity Ward's departed studio heads) and a recent LA Times article, Activision has confirmed that it originally planned to develop Modern Warfare 3 at its Infinity Ward studio. Whether this is still the case after everything that's happened in recent months remains unclear.

1 simple fact a lot of you will disagree on but know its the truth, if these game's were purely and simply exclusivly only on PC they would not be as bad as they are right now. consoles restrict content, restrict MP modes texture res ect basicly if you really wanted to see these games evolve you should stop playing on games consoles and play on gaming PC's, its console gamers who are stopping these games from there evolutional cycle. pc's recieve upgrades every day and evolve every year while console slow this process down considerably and this gen has to end now, by keeping this gen as it is you wont see any noticable change in gaming franchise's and COD is a prime example of this. BattleField 3 on the PC using current gen graphics cards among other current and upto date components makes the games look and feel leauges better than the console's, basicly while the PC is in the premier legue both the 360 and ps3 and in a regional conferance miles away from last devision let alone the prem (if you understand english football you'll kinda grasp what im getting at) basicly the consoles are past their sell by date and now there just old and crusty, for games like COD and BF to pregress and evolve we need the next gen consoles now not in 2 or 3 years time, in fact for all games to evolve we need the next gen of consoles. the PC already has the next gen but is constantly being held back i just with not only console gamer accept this true fact but also sony and microsoft too, nintendo are/have done somthing about it and its about time sony and microsoft did too. yours the antagonised PC gamer.
