US publication to lift the lid on the next title from brains behind Psychonauts...

It might have been critically acclaimed, but the retail performance of Tim Schafer's 2005 title Psychonauts can at best be described as 'lacklustre'.

However, that hasn't stopped the man behind LucasArts' Grim Fandango from his next project, which has now been revealed by US-based Game Informer as 'Brutal Legend'.

There's little information to go on so far, including which platforms the title will heading to, but judging by the axe- and mace-wielding characters that jump out of the issue's front cover, we're guessing that it'll have very little to do with cute animals and casual gameplay.

No doubt official confirmation will be heading into the wider world soon enough.
