Court claims the lawsuit between Activision and Double Fine Productions has been settled...

Activision-Blizzard has informed the Los Angeles Superior Court that it has reached a settlement over the ongoing feud surrounding Double Fine Productions' Brutal Legend.

A hearing due today in which Activision were set to present why the game shouldn't be released was cancelled, although exact details on the settlement have yet to become apparent.

The lawsuit began when Activision attempted to sue Double Fine Productions, suggesting that it still owned the rights to the game.  In a timely manner, Double Fine Productions issued a counter-suit backed up by some pretty fierce fighting talk.  EA meanwhile remained in the shadows, presumably hoping the whole thing would quickly boil over.

Earlier in the week, Superior Court Judge Craig Karlan had suggested that he wasn't inclined to upholding Activision's demands to delay the release of the game, but claimed that the decision was a close call.

Seems like that decision has been taken out of his hands, however, presumably freeing up the game for its originally scheduled October release.
