Take-Two Interactive incurs losses of £85.2 million for its fiscal year ended October 31st 2009...

True to the company's revised forecast a fortnight ago, Take-Two Interactive has confirmed significant losses of $137.9 million (£85.2 million) for its fiscal year ended October 31st 2009, which represents a drop of $235 million (£145.2 million) over the company's net income from the previous year.

Take-Two posted net revenue for this year of $968.5 (£598.6 million), down from $1.54 billion (£950.4 million) the previous fiscal year (when GTA IV was released). It seems the publisher still hasn't managed to shed the curse of being unable to post a profit without being buoyed by the release of a triple-A GTA game.

Other than that, the highlights from the company's financial report included 2 million unit sales for Gearbox's Borderlands. "Borderlands from 2K Games has now sold over 2 million units worldwide and has established itself as a key franchise for Take-Two, for which the Company has long-term publishing rights," Take-Two stated.

I suspect that Borderlands has sold well because we've experienced the most barren run-up to Christmas for new game releases in recent history. If the game had released last year when the market was heaving with new titles, then I think it probably would have struggled.

I enjoyed certain small aspects of Borderlands, but overall I thought the game was too flawed. The game needed a stronger narrative - half the time I was just going trough the motions, not remembering why I was doing a quest and consequently not having an interest in anything I did. It was way too easy, too. I never kept or bought any weapons because they always seemed to be weaker than what I was using. The ending was anti-climactic, and Claptrap was way too intrusive, obnoxious, and repetitive (I actually edited the game's code so I never had to hear his voice). I have zero interest in any sequels to Borderlands and I don't understand the hype. There are so many RPGs/FPSs out there that are better made and more enjoyable. Hell, there are a huge number of games other than RPGs/FPSs out there that are better than Borderlands, and those games will never get any sequels. Stop having such weak standards, everyone, you're crapping up the industry.

It could be a PSN code that you've got. Are you sure that your competition entry was registered for Xbox 360?

E-mail chrisl at totalvideogames dot com with your details and we'll track the entry down.

Thanks, TVG

I won a code but it's not a 25 digit xbox live code. I don't know how to use it.

Well all it is, is a system they put a bunch of textures and models in and it generated thousands apon thousands of guns, each has something a little diffrent whether its the scope, color, speed, damage or even just the look of the gun. The chances to get the same exact weapon is about 1 in 1000.

well the advert actually says a Bazillion guns...

either way i love playing this game and most of the guns are just to be sold as there not as good as the one you already have. there is no customizing charicters bar choosing the colour of there tshirt...

this game does lack alot, i also noticed a glitch when you headshot the children pysco's the body turns to an adult one as it flops to the floor!!?!?!?

that said you get to puch annoying children pysco's in the face, (some times their heads explode :^D)

Enable a mod to set it in David Braben's "Elite" universe and they can have my first-born child.
