US publication reveals the first details about the collaborative efforts between Steven Spielberg and Electronic Arts...

Despite the deal being signed back in 2005, the three original franchises spearheaded by the collaboration between Electronic Arts and legendary movie director Steven Spielberg are still to be officially announced by the publisher - although some details have already managed to emerge by way of US publication, Newsweek.

According to the latest issue, the Wii-exclusive title (which had previously been confirmed for a release before April 1st 2008) has been given the codename "PGRS", and is an "action-puzzle simulator" where gamers move around various blocks. The report also reveals the first details of the second franchise, which is being developed for Xbox 360 and PlayStation3, codenamed "LMNO".

Players will apparently follow the story of an 'ex-special agent' as he tries to protect a computer-controlled woman that displays her emotions by changing the colour of her skin. The state of mind of the female character then affects the how well she's able to help out the protagonist along the way. Spielberg describes the main challenge is to question whether, "the game [can] have an emotional impact on players while they are actively manipulating the world?"

Further details (including the actual names of the two franchises) are yet to be announced by EA - though with the scaled back E3 Media & Business Summit due to begin in Santa Monica this week, don't be too surprised if more information is released soon.
