Telltale Games Release Bone News

By Chris Leyton on 15/09/2005

Telltale Games announce the availability of its first interactive tale based on Jeff Smith's acclaimed Bone series...

Out of Boneville is the first major release from the studio that includes such pioneers as Dan Connors; revitalising the comatosed Adventure genre in the way many disillusioned fans would hope for.

The game is available via the company’s digital download service, Telltale Now, whilst a free demo should be more then enough to get you hooked – especially the cliff-hanger it leaves you with.

“I’ve worked very closely with Telltale as they’ve been developing this title and have been very impressed,” says Jeff Smith, creator of Bone. “They’ve done an amazing job capturing the essence of my story and adapting it for a new medium – with great animation, voices, and fun puzzles and games worked into the story in a very natural way.”

“We’re finding that Bone plays really well as an interactive tale,” says Dan Connors, CEO of Telltale. “It has terrific characters, an interesting setting and a story that hits on many different levels. It has something for everyone, with an approachable narrative for kids; fun mini-games and puzzles; and deeper elements for fans of classic adventures and epic sagas.”

Bone ushers in the promise of episodic content as well, with a new episode scheduled for an early 2006 release. Recent news also suggests that Telltale Games look likely to be working on a Sam & Max adaptation; something to get very excited about.

We’ll have more on Bone soon – I’m off to buy the full copy…
