Ubisoft reveals a first-person shooter with a difference, due for digital download next month...

If you thought Team Fortress was whacky, then Ubisoft's Bloody Good Time looks downright nuts. The multiplayer FPS takes place across various trashy film sets, from a horror house to a casino, featuring stereotypical B-movie characters such as a miming clown, showgirl, and surfer dude (see the cast below).

Due for launch next month on October 27th, Bloody Good Time will be available for PC and Xbox 360 via digital download platforms Steam and Xbox Live Arcade respectively. Up to 8 players will be able to compete in online matches across four different game modes where they will utilise a wide range of weapons, from remote-controlled exploding rats to guns and a frying pan.

The game itself is in development using Valve's Source engine at the Edinburgh-based studio, Outerlight, which previously developed a similar title called The Ship: Murder Party (also using the Source engine).

The Ship's central concept challenged players to kill a selected opponent without being seen while simultaneously avoiding other players who were out to kill them. Bloody Good Time's 'Hunt' mode is undoubtedly a nod to this, although the game also ships with further modes including a regular deathmatch and last-man-standing style 'Elimination' mode as well.
