Multiple job opportunities appear on the developer's website, but will it be 'World of StarCraft', 'WoW2', or something else...

Having secured themselves at the top of the MMO tree in recent years, it appears that California-based Blizzard Entertainment are in the early stages of planning their next onslaught in the online market.

On a fairly lengthy job listings page deep within the bowels of their website, Blizzard are looking for several individuals who can lead the production of the untitled MMO in the coming months (and years), including Accounting Coordinators, Lead Engine Programmers, Lead Tools Programmer, and Lead Technical Artist to name a few.

No doubt there'll be plenty of rumour mills turning out there in the forums and communities surrounding Blizzard; could this be the mythical World of Starcraft, or maybe World of Diablo? How about World of Warcraft 2, following in the footsteps of NCsoft and Guild Wars/Guild Wars 2?

Despite this indirect news, don't expect much information on this untitled MMO anytime soon - after all, it took four years for World of Warcraft to arrive after it was first unveiled back in 2000.

Normally I'd agree with you. News articles that just regurgitate what a developer thinks of their game (i.e. "it's awesome") aren't particularly informative.

The reason we ran this one is that very little is known about Blizzard's next-gen MMO. The company has said almost nothing about it, plus there are a huge amount of ardent fans out there who want to know every little detail.

We note in the news piece that Sams doesn't "reveal any specific details", although he does hint that the next-gen MMO will be more than merely World of Warcraft 2.

when will games execs stop spouting rubbish about how awesome and unseen their game is surely whatever they create it will still be just a game .Granted wow is an exciting game and has had a great run but no kidding they making somthing new the graphics and gameplay presented in wow will never be enough to hold intrest and there are plaenty of developers trying to compete with the almighty blizzard if im still playing wow then (which i probably wont thanks to star wars old republic) i certainly wont be patronising blizzard for two games you must pay to play

So basically what your saying is... I know big news... That Blizzard has announced that it's going to be big and something no one has ever done before. So basically you have no story but attempted to make one out of some random cryptic comments made by the COO. All he basically said was nothing instead what he successfully did was talk in circles and cause you to post this garbage. Please focus your efforts on finding stories and not simply attempted to rehash hype/garbage.

Team 3, a seperate workforce from the current influx of new MMO staff, have yet to finalise production issues on the single player (third person action) world of warcraft to be released in a couple of years - only then can they turn to starcraft world after release of starcraft2.
