Criterion maintains that it's not working on a sequel to Black...

After Burnout Paradise's mixed reception, Criterion fans hoping for a sequel to the explosive FPS, Black, are in for some disappointment.

In an interview featured in the latest issue of D-Pad magazine, Criterion's Craig Sullivan claims:

"Sorry to disappoint you, but as we've mentioned many times on our podcast we're not looking at making another Black game any time soon," before adding, "Although the rumours never seem to go away and we still get a lot of letters from fans, we're honestly not working on that game at the moment. I doubt the rumours will go away though."

The remarks counter claims issued during a financial conference call back in November 2006, which suggested that Black would make its way to next-gen systems. Intriguingly, an analyst's report making the headlines today for noting Pandemic Studios handling the next Lord of the Rings title, also lists Criterion as working on Burnout and Black.

Although it doesn't exactly rule Black 2 out of the equation, it begs the question exactly what Criterion are up to beyond the next inevitable title in the venerable Burnout series.

In case you are still getting the "hundreds of updates" screen when trying to play fable on your 360, you have to be signed into xbox live FIRST, then launch the game. I was getting the same update screen and then decided to sign into xbox live first, then launch the game. Now if plays fine.
