Battle of the Gods finds the Greeks fighting against a legion of undead warriors...

Coming after yesterday's official announcement of The Movies: Stunts & Effects, Lionhead are certainly in the mood for expansion packs, as the first details from Black & White 2: Battle of the Gods has become apparent (ok they've been around for a week or so, but we missed out on them the first time around).

Once again Battle of the Gods finds the Greeks squaring up against the Aztecs, after their defeat in B&W2, the Aztecs draw upon the powers of a new God who unleashes an army of the living dead. Beyond the new campaign the expansion is set to offer a new creature, two new stages and four new miracles - sadly it seems multiplayer is still being overlooked.

Black & White 2: Battle of the Gods is scheduled for release in Q2 2006; look out for further information soon.

[UPDATE]

An official announcement has confirmed many of the points mentioned above, along with a few extra details.

Taking players back once again to the world of Eden, something strange has started to occur, in what EA assures us will be a darker, more sinister experience then before. The Aztecs haven't exactly taken to defeat lightly and by making human sacrifices they have raised their own deity. Setting up an epic conflict to fight head on, it's Good vs. Evil; however in true B&W tradition that doesn't stop the player from using more malevolent means.

Confirming the new creature, two new lands and four new miracles, EA's announcement also confirms new enemy unit AI, two new enemy armies and a new creature adversary.

Intensifying the scale of the conflict and ensuring the player feels more like a God then a city planner should go along way to answering many of the criticisms; Black & White 2: Battle of the Gods is scheduled for an April release, so look out for more soon...
