'Protector Trials' will add what sounds very much like a 'Horde'-style mode to BioShock 2's single-player game...
2K Games has just announced a new DLC instalment for BioShock 2 called 'Protector Trials', which will cast players as a Big Daddy as he attempts to defend his Little Sister from incoming Splicers that want to steal her precious Adam.
The DLC is currently due for release from August 3rd on PC, Xbox Live, and PSN at a price of 400 Microsoft Points (£3.40) and follows two previous DLC instalments for the game that focused on its multiplayer component.
Unlike these previous DLC instalments though, 'Protector Trials' will add to BioShock 2's existing single-player offerings with a mode that sounds very similar to 'Horde' from Gears of War 2 (except with Splicers instead of Locusts, and a Big Daddy defending a Little Sister instead of Delta Squad).
Six maps for the mode will be included in the DLC, which have all be taken from BioShock 2's campaign. Players will also have access to the game's full set of weapons and Plasmids to defend their Little Sisters, which will move through each map trying to harvest Adam from corpses.
Seven new Achievements/Trophies are planned for the DLC, as well as new unlockables including previously unseen concept art and videos.
"The team at 2K Marin has been working hard ever since the launch of BioShock 2 to develop ways for gamers to extend their time in the single-player world of Rapture," said Christoph Hartmann, President of 2K. "I'm proud to announce the first of these experiences, the 'Protector Trials', which takes players back to some of their favorite places from the original game and features some of the biggest challenges that fans of this series have ever experienced. This is just the beginning. More single-player content is on the way that will deliver more of the intense action and story-driven gameplay that fans have been craving."

Presumably you're talking about the Minerva's Den DLC?
What platform do you have BioShock 2 on? Because the DLC on PC wasn't supposed to launch yesterday. 2K has it down for release "at a later date", although XBox Live and PSN were supposed to get it yesterday.

you wake up in rapture as a prototype big daddy six or seven years after bioshock 1. There will be multiplayer but no co-op play, also there will be people who are not splicers to talk to and do missions for kinda like 'tenambaum' you can wield two weapons now one big daddy weapon like the rivet gun or 'drillfist' <<< (thats what i call it) and a plasmid. there will be a new system for plasmids and there levels. for example level one will be a weak ball of fire or lightning etc level two is a charged plasmid so it can get stronger the longer you charge it, unfortunately this leaves you vulnerable to attack. level three is like a flame thrower of the different plasmids but i think that only aapplies to the fire ice and lightning plasmids
Yo can now also go underwater as you are the big daddy but there is one thing in your way. the big sister. and there will be a new option for the big sister which is to use her so she can harvest ADAM for you. thats most of what i no but i hope it will be helpfull to you guys.
