Michel Ancel concedes that a current-gen release for Beyond Good & Evil 2 looks doubtful...
Michael Ancel, the man behind Ubisoft's Rayman series of games and its Raving Rabbids spin-offs, has admitted that the publisher is now targeting next-gen consoles for Beyond Good & Evil 2.
"It is still alive and we are very far [into] development so we can't go back now," Ancel told GI.biz. "We are targeting the next generation of consoles."
Arguably Ancel's most critically revered work, the original Beyond Good & Evil was re-released over XBLA and PSN this year. A Ubidays teaser trailer for Beyond Good & Evil 2 announced the sequel in 2008 before leaked footage emerged in 2009.
Since then, the signs have not been good with consistent speculation of the project's cancellation, so it's at least good news that Ancel is still working on the game even if it will take an age to arrive.
