Platinum Games Co-founder, Atsushi Inaba admits that he'd love to make Bayonetta 2 but only "when the time is right"...

Atushi Inaba, the Co-founder of Platinum Games, has stated that he'd "love to make a sequel" to Bayonetta following the teasing Twitter conversations of the game's Director, Hideki Kamiya.

Kamiya-san said that Bayonetta will be back "If you believe so" to followers on Twitter last month and now it seems Inaba-san is equally keen to make the sequel, although he's a bit more pragmatic on the matter.

"There is no concrete plan or schedule that we can talk about," Inaba-san clarified to Eurogamer. "It's not like Kamiya said, 'Okay, we're going to make this.'

"But Bayonetta is definitely a special IP for us. We loved creating that game. We think it was a really good game.

"We would love to make a sequel to it when the time is right. That's all we can say," he concluded.

Bayonetta marks a great start to the decade for games and it's also a start to the decade that's littered with other hack 'n slash games (i.e. the better-than-expected Darksiders, Dante's Inferno, and God of War III).

It's certainly a welcome return of the genre when there was only one game of this type (Batman: Arkham Asylum) worth shouting about last year.

But which one will be the best when the dust settles later this year? My money is on God of War III with Bayonetta coming in a very close second place.
