GC 09: EA Dates Bad Company 2 News

EA today confirmed a March 5th 2010 release date for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 across Europe.  Promising the best multiplayer action, Bad Company 2 features an increased level of destruction, stronger vehicular warfare and a greater emphasis on team tactics.

Bad Company 2 features 15 authentic land, sea and air vehicles, such as the all-new UH-60 transport helicopter that can ship an entire four-player squad across the map, while two players wreak havoc with the mounted railguns.

In total the game will feature 46 weapons that can be customised into over 200 different firearms.  There's a total of over 15,000 kit variations in the game, giving each squad the ability to choose the weapon upgrades and enhancements that suit their playing style.

"When Battlefield: Bad Company 2 ships in March, it will deliver the best online multiplayer experience ever."

DICE's Frostbite engine also boasts Destruction 2.0, which promises to add a new layer of strategy to the warfare with a micro-destruction mechanic such as chipping away cover bit-by-bit or taking down an entire building.
