Band Mashups Hitting Wii In April News

THQ unveils a new musical brand for Nintendo little white box of tricks...

Battle of the Bands

The rhythm/action genre may have been recently brought to the fore with the re-release of REZ on Xbox Live Arcade, but it looks like Wii owners will be getting its own take this April with 'Band Mashups' from THQ.

Featuring single and multiplayer modes, Band Mashups will see players battle to the top in a bid to topple 'the nefarious big boss Mr. Hong and take control of the faraway city of New Cadenza'. Thirty licensed tracks have each been performed in five very different styles of music (rock, funk, country, Latin, and marching band), which switch throughout the course of the song. Exactly which tracks have been released are unknown, though THQ has said that they come from the last four decades of music.

"Band Mashups takes an innovative approach to the rhythm/action genre by blending music and combat in the ultimate battle of the bands," said Randy Shoemaker, global brand director, THQ. "Using a rhythm based game-play mechanic, the game delivers 70 over-the-top musical weapons and utilizes the Wii Remote's functionality to deliver a completely original musical combat experience. Fighting with a sniper violin or flamethrower guitar is something gamers should definitely look forward to."

One of the biggest let downs in history, if they would of tried harder to make it more of a gh3 or rb game but with the different things thisa brings in , it could of kicked ass. this was an "try and make a quick buck" im sorry the people that made this need to be shot, let them heal and shot again
