UK retail sources indicate that Warner is planning to hold back Rocksteady's sequel until early 2011...

As rumours have started to circle about the supervillains that may or may not fill the cast of Warner Bros and Rocksteady's Batman: Arkham Asylum 2, UK retail sources have indicated that the game may miss a Christmas 2010 release window in favour of a Q1 2011 launch.

"We've been told that Warner has acted early to avoid releasing the game into a heavily congested pre-Christmas market," a senior UK retail source told CVG. "It wants to dominate the first quarter of 2011 instead, when it can get maximum retail space and mindshare amongst gamers."

Earlier this week, the voice of Batman, Kevin Conroy allegedly indicated that Two Face will be in Arkham Asylum 2, while subsequent rumours have linked Mr. Freeze with an appearance. This is all we've heard about the game's supervillains since its teaser trailer at the Spike VGAs last year, which confirmed a return for The Joker and Harley Quinn while also pointing to a role for The Penguin.
