Ubisoft confirms the vocal (and visual) talents of Kristen Bell for the soon to be released title...

Already one of the most anticipated titles of the year, Ubisoft has today confirmed that Kristen Bell will be making an appearance in Ubisoft Montreal's Assassin's Creed.

The actress, who has already appeared in Veronica Mars and is currently part of the second series cast of NBC smash hit Heroes, will play the part of a 'mysterious' character in the game.

"It was crucial to find an actress who could convey the emotional range and talent needed to play this key character in the Assassin's universe," said Jade Raymond, producer for Assassin's Creed. "Kristen Bell is a remarkable actress who was able to bring her character to life in a dynamic way that I don't think anyone else could have done properly. Her professionalism and dynamic personality were a perfect fit for this project."

"I was a big video gamer growing up, so working on Assassin's Creed is my chance to be a part of video game history," said Kristen Bell. "It's something completely different than what I've done before, so it's cool I get to branch out and try another entertainment medium. I was attracted to this project because of the intelligent storyline and the character I play. Plus I admire the artistry of the graphics of video games. I look forward to seeing what my character will look like and I can't wait to play the game and see if I can beat it!"

Assassin's Creed is due for release on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on November 16th, with a PC edition arriving in early 2008.

Also, even if the comment wasn't spot-on, then it hardly makes its writer a "complete and utter failure in life". That's a little harsh, don't you think? They might be really good at tiddlywinks or something.

I think it's a very apt comment.  The original Assassin's Creed focussed on stunning visuals and lavish presentation, but completely forgot about putting an enjoyable game experience.

Thankfully they hugely improved upon it for the sequel.

This game is a perfect example of what is wrong with game development in this era of next-generation consoles. All the time and money is spent on graphics, neglecting the development of gameplay. Repetively tedious and tediously repetitive, this game is an absolute insult to the consumer and gamer. The developers should not be rewarded for producing this abomination. Don't buy it.
