Ubisoft schedules a May announcement for the next instalment in its successful Assassin's Creed series...
During an investor conference call following the company's Q3 financial report, Ubisoft's CEO, Yves Guillemot has stated that the publisher will reveal plans for its next Assassin's Creed game in May of this year.
"We will have an Assassin’s Creed this year. We are going to give you more details in May,” Guillemot stated (thanks, VG247).
The game is already pegged for release during the next financial year (between April 1st 2011 and March 31st 2012), although it's more than likely that this fourth Assassin's Creed instalment will arrive during the series' traditional November release window.
Ubisoft's EMEA Chief of Marketing and Sales, Geoffroy Sardin pointed towards a 2011 release in an interview last year, while Ubisoft has previously made clear its "ultimate goal" to fully annualise the Assassin's Creed series.
The company also announced shipments of 6.5 million units for Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood so far and added that it expects the title to reach total sales of 7-7.5 million units. As of May last year, Assassin's Creed II had sold close to 9 million units.

I was hoping for a new protaganist and new time period. I think one of the best locales would be France during the 1700's. The game would have guns, but they wouldn't be that dangerous as today, because flintlocks were oneshot-reload weapons. I think it work well with the rise of the firearm, and swords were still being used at the time. France also some of the best architecture in the world.(for those who don't know the eiffel tower was not around then). So please Ubisoft listen to these ideas.
