Assassin's Creed Revelations Unmasked News

It’s official - after a week of teasing over Facebook - Ubisoft has now formally announced Assassin’s Creed Revelations, the final chapter in the Ezio Auditore story. The game will be released for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, and is expected to hit its traditional November release window this year.

The plot follows master assassin Ezio as he walks in the footsteps of his mentor, Altair, on “a journey of discovery and revelation”. An army of Templars is massing in Constantinople, threatening to destabilize the region and disrupt the Ottoman Empire, and naturally Ezio’s course is set to wind right through the turmoil.

In addition to an expanded multiplayer featuring brand new maps and characters, single player gameplay tweaks are also due, with players manipulating the construct of Desmond’s memories and the Animus to “decipher the mysteries of his past and gain insight into the future”.

“Delivering the final chapter of the Ezio trilogy is an important milestone in the Assassin’s Creed franchise for us and for our fans,” said Alexandre Amancio, Creative Director at Ubisoft Montreal. “Assassin’s Creed Revelations includes lots of new features and some significant surprises. We can’t wait to show our fans what we have in store at E3 this year.”

Although this is the concluding part of the Ezio story arc, you can be pretty confident it won’t be the last Assassin’s Creed game altogether; Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has previously said that he wants a new AC title to be released every year, and with lifetime sales of 28 million units to date, the series is likely to continue for some time yet.
