Ubisoft announces an October 4th European launch for the PS3 exclusive beta of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood...
Ubisoft has revealed as part of its Gamescom announcement slate that the European version of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood's PS3 exclusive beta will launch three weeks later than the US beta.
While a September 13th launch date had previously been detailed for the GameStop exclusive beta in the US, Ubisoft has now revealed at Gamescom that the European beta will commence on October 4th.
Codes for the multiplayer beta can be attained by pre-ordering a PS3 version of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood from selected retailers (GAME and Play.com in the UK). Click through here to find out why we think the multiplayer component of the game looks so impressive.

My guess is a sequel to the PSP game in 2011, then the final PS3/Xbox360 game in 2012 (as people keep saying, for obvious reasons).
Based on no evidence though, just a hunch.

The story certainly spins-off from from ACII, but the city of Rome is new and there are a lot of added features in the single-player game that weren't in ACII. It's effectively Assassin's Creed 2.9.
