Ubisoft Pushes Assassin's Creed Again News

A further week delay to the Director's Cut and the DS versions...

Assassin's Creed: Director's Cut

PC and Nintendo DS owners have already had a long enough wait to see for themselves whether Assassin's Creed is the best thing since medieval sliced toast or merely over hyped, repetitive, pap; however it seems there's a further wait in store to make that call.

Originally intended for a February release before being pushed back to March 28th and then April 4th, Ubisoft's latest release schedule has now confirmed a further slight delay to April 11th.

If you've been waiting since November what's an extra week in the grand scheme of things, of course to make amends for the wait PC owners have been treated to a "Director's Cut" edition, featuring stall-bashing, roof-running, escort challenge (not sure whether Altair's moonlighting), and an additional equally uninspired "new" investigation.

The graphics quality is mind blowing. Something I found during the game is that it's very easy to play and lots of fun. I will be playing this game for the next 10 years.

The game is given a realistic vibe, with pick-pocketing, interrogations and saving innocent civilians. One hard to understand concept is the story line, which chops and changes between 21st century times and the time of the game - probably 200 AD. The graphics quality is great and the "parkour" ability of the "arab" is quite fun in itself, 4 stars

lamo investigations are the most boring parts of the game. the probably gave us these new "implementations" that are lackluster to say the least just so the console babies wouldn't cry. if they had pc gamer's interest in mind, they'd include new cities or outposts, new fighting moves, new enemy types(haven't seen an pikemen, man of wars, peasant soldiers, conscripts, etc.

What a shame that they didn't figure that all out during Beta testing. In the end, the consoles get the shaft. Nice.
