Open-world military sim coming to the UK this June...
Ultra-hardcore war sim fans can look forward to some action very shortly, with confirmation that Bohemia Interactive Studios and 505 Games' ArmA II is scheduled for a June 26th UK release.
From the creators of the original Operation Flashpoint (not to be confused with the Codemasters developed sequel), ArmA II builds upon the foundations and benefits from the third-generation of the open-world military game engine. So good is the technology that it provides the basis for military training simulators for the United States Marine Corps, UK Ministry of Defence and Australian Defence Force.
ArmA II finds players taking on the role of a US Marine Corps Force Recon squad, sent into a fictional post-Soviet country to serve as a peacekeeping force and ensure stability. Bohemia promises a plot full of political intrigue and twists, which will blur the boundaries between fact and fiction.
