Alpha Protocol Delay Confirmed News

It'll be no big surprise to most of you, but SEGA and Obsidian has confirmed a delay for Alpha Protocol that will push the title from its previous autumn 2009 release window into spring 2010.

This follows reports from last month (citing an alleged SEGA document) that a Sony product evaluator said the game, "felt barely RPG," with an initial level that was, "too challenging for players," and that "Mass Effect felt more RPG".

"Alpha Protocol is a new take on the RPG genre and from day one the team has been working to make Alpha Protocol a truly unique game for players to experience," said Feargus Urquhart, CEO of Obsidian Entertainment. "We're very happy that SEGA has made the decision to hold back the shipment of the game in order to give it the best chance at becoming the publishing success that we at Obsidian and our partners at SEGA are striving for."
