Atari Bites Into Apple For New Exec News

Apple Europe chief jumps onto the Atari bandwagon for a new role as 'independent director'...

Alone in the Dark

If ever there was a publisher out to prove that it's turned over a new leaf, it's Infogrames and subsidiary, Atari. Not content with securing the services of heavy-weights Phil Harrison and David Gardner, the publisher has now confirmed that it's tempted Apple's European boss, Pascal Cagri to a new role.

News of the appointment comes from UK industry mag, MCV.

Given the ambiguous title of 'Independent Director' on the Infogrames board, Cagri strengthens the revamped Atari line up as the company goes steers towards a new strategy of online games and 'community experiences'.

The moves comes just days ahead of Atari's big title for 2008, Alone in the Dark, which finally gets a release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, Wii, and PC this Friday. A PlayStation 3 version is expected later in the year.

Is it me, or are games getting worse as the consles get better? Alone in the dark 2 is actually worse than its predecessor, its an insult to anyone with more than 1 brain cell and will make anyone who buys it very angry that they've forked out £40 for it.
