Alan To Wake In 2008??? News

US publication reports that Remedy's psychological action thriller may be at least twelve months away...

Alan Wake

A highlight of both E3 2005 and X06, Remedy's Alan Wake has been something of an elusive title, only popping up once in long while; and if reports from the US Official Xbox Magazine are accurate, then it may be quite some time before the psychological action thriller finally makes its appearance at retail...

According to the publication, the game has been pencilled for a release in the US during 2008, although publisher Microsoft Game Studios is yet to confirm or deny the report.

TVG saw the latest preview of the game back at September's X06, where Remedy refused to put any sort of release period on the title.

We'll have more news shortly...

Is anybody at Remedy actually AWAKE?

It has been a long, long time in development - and certainly won't be the Heavy Rain of Xbox 360 like one person has suggested (I have every confidence in Quantic Dreams').

However, I do hold out hope that AW will provide a Lynchian adventure - when it eventually arrives!

True. 12 years on Duke Nukem Forever though. Perhaps Remedy is trying to break 3D Realms' record.

Fours years since that first look at E3...it's almost too painful to think about.

I think the operative word there is "had"...

This long development time obviously means they are having trouble. Sucks, the game had a lot of potential.

I do wander whether DX10 and its various issues are having an effect on Alan Wake.

A demo? You're having a laugh, I'd make do with a trailer at this stage. It's gonna be a long time before we see Alan Wake hitting the Marketplace.
