More on this gameFuncon confirms the monthly cost of roaming around Hyboria, with the subscription fees for Age of Conan unveiled for North American and Europe...
One month ahead of its North American and European launch, Funcom has today confirmed the subscription fees for its long-awaited fantasy MMO, Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures.
Distributed in the UK thanks to Eidos, Age of Conan is set to cost European gamers 12.99 Euros a month to take part in the expansive, DirectX 10 primed, world of Hyboria. Eidos is yet to reveal an adjusted fee for the UK, although it wouldn't be a surprise to see it hit around what almost seems to be the MMO standard of between £8.99/£9.99 a month.
The announcement comes as Funcom outlined its strategy in the final few weeks ahead of its launch at the end of May, which includes a ramping up of marketing and ongoing technical tests. The developer/publisher has also revealed that the pre-order figures from some retailers are some of the highest for any MMO released to date.
Age of Conan is scheduled to arrive in Europe from May 23rd on PC; the announced Xbox 360 edition is yet to receive a release period.

This is, hands down, the best MMORPG out there when it comes to gameplay, immersion, and mature content and players. No more irritating 13 year olds!

Check out the Funcom website. They shipped 700,000 copies to retail, but a recent press release maintains that over 400,000 have logged on and started playing since it released.

Erm...where did you get the information from in this article? Common knowledge is that the game sold over 700 000 copies (110 000 of those collectors editions) on the first day of release, meaning that it beat WoW's North American & European release sales by over 170 000 on the first day. It therefore does not pale in comparison to WoW's initial sales, but beat it by quite a margin...

Dang, this has been delayed so much that I almost forgot about it. Looks like they've improved on it, but it still needs work. I think that's why they moved the release back yet again.

this says the 360 version will release the same time as the pc version which is incorrect, if the pc version releases march 25th (which it will probably be pushed back again) then the 360 version will most likely come out around september.

It's nice to see that they stuck to the gritty dark world of R.E. Howard. They could have toned it down for children like so many other games. It's nice to see a PC game geared to an older generation.
