The jet-fighter mayhem has got many Xbox Live gamers in the cockpit, with one million downloads so far...
Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation has managed to reach over one million downloads on Xbox Live. The latest Ace Combat in a long running series from Japanese developers Namco Bandai has reached this milestone in about three and a half months.
This compares with Bioshock's current record for reaching one million demo downloads in roughly one month. In fact, Ace Combat 6's demo has been up there long enough that you'd really hope that it had reached a million, a point not lost on Mathieu Piau, Atari Europe's Product Manager:
"There's no excuse for anyone with an Xbox Live account not to have tried this demo by now, and hopefully the sheer numbers of people already taking to the skies will encourage those still in the hangar to taxi onto the runway and light 'em up," said Piau. "The demo provides a tantalizing taste of the full-throttle experience gamers will be able to enjoy once the title launches in Europe this November complete with full online multiplayer dogfights."
Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation is due for release exclusively on the Xbox 360 this November. This makes quite a change for the series as it has traditionally been a PlayStation exclusive.
