All Points Bulletin to be the first Real Time Worlds title to benefit from the newly announced Unreal Engine 3 deal...

It seems that every week a new Unreal Engine 3 licensee is announced by Epic Games, and this week is no different. Real Time Worlds has today announced that they have become the latest developer to sign a deal with Epic for their UE3 toolset for the development of next-generation PC and console titles.

Beginning with the forthcoming All Points Bulletin, set for release in 2008, the developer has signed a studio-wide deal with UE3 owner Epic Games that will see various affiliates including Real World Studios Asia and Denki utilise the power of Unreal Engine 3.

â??We have been very impressed with the UE3 technology and design tools. It has allowed our artists to deliver the stunning visual impact they wanted, early in the project life cycle. Likewise our code team has been empowered to focus on the unique aspects of what we need, building on top of a great code base. And last but not least, our designers have been able to prototype to their hearts content,â? said David Jones, Founder and Creative Director, Real Time Worlds. â??As we build on the technology, extend it for our specific online needs, we plan to be a long term partner with Epic building projects of all sizes on many platforms.â?

â??It is a massive privilege to have Real Time Worlds using Unreal Engine 3 to create APB which will undoubtedly be another world-class franchise from the creator of so many hit games.â?, said Mark Rein, Vice President and Co-founder of Epic Games Inc. â??Considering the long-standing heritage and pedigree at Real Time Worlds I am certain that APB will be just the first of many major hit games they will create with Unreal Engine 3â?

TVG recently spoke with the Real Time Worlds founder (and former head of DMA Designs â?“ creators of GTA and Lemmings) Dave Jones about the past, present and future which you can read here. Weâ??ll have further news on Real Time Worlds, APB, and Epic Games shortlyâ?¦
