50 Cent Promotes Violent Videogames News

The issue of violent videogames and children will always be cause for contention; however itâ??s certainly not helped by the likes of rapper 50 Cent actively promoting his videogames to kids.

In an alleged interview 50 Cent claims, "Just because it is rated mature doesn't mean you shouldn't buy it for your kids. Play the game and explain to them what they are playing.�

Admittedly there is some sense in fiddyâ??s words with the rapper rightfully suggesting that "The person that's influenced by a video game can be influenced by anythingâ? and concluding that if videogames were to be banned we would have to ban all forms of entertainment.

However that hasnâ??t stopped the typically reserved Australian Office of Film and Literature Classification (OFLC) from refusing to provide a classification for 50 Cent: Bulletproof, which means the title cannot be sold legally throughout the territory.

With no videogame classification higher then MA15+ many titles have however become outlawed across Australia, including the likes of Rockstarâ??s â??hot coffeeâ? enabled Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Manhunt and Midwayâ??s NARC.
