Blood on the Sand signed by THQ, as the 'Fiddy' follow up is granted a 15+ certificate in Oz...

After months of waiting, the first scraps of news over the future of those franchises dropped by Activision Blizzard has come through over the weekend, as THQ has been revealed as the new publisher of 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand.

News of THQ's move emerged over the weekend, when the publisher was cited in the game's submission to the Australian Office of Film and Literature Classification. The mature shooter received a 15+ rating, the highest available to the Australian authorities. Blood in the Sand is yet to be rated by the BBFC, PEGI, or the ESRB, and THQ are yet to make an official statement on the acquisition.

The game, which bizarrely follows the hip hop artist on a quest to retrieve earnings after a gig in a war-torn Middle Eastern country, was originally scheduled to arrive on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this autumn.
