Surprise As THQ (Finally) Confirms 50 Cent Sequel News

THQ has finally confirmed today that it has acquired 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand, which was dropped by Activision Blizzard earlier in the year.  The brand was left out of the cold following the merger between Activision and Vivendi Games, along with Ghostbusters, Bourne, and World in Conflict.

The publisher stayed mute on the subject at the start of the month when Blood on the Sand was listed on the Australian age ratings website, which named THQ has the game's new publisher.

Confirming the acquisition, which will see the 50 Cent: Bulletproof sequel get a release in early 2009, Brad Carraway, vice president, global brand management at THQ said, “50 Cent is a cultural icon and one of the biggest names in hip hop. THQ is thrilled to be working with him on this exciting new title.” He continued, “Combining intense single player combat, drop-in and drop-out online co-op and never-before-released music tracks makes this the ultimate package for gamers and hip hop fans alike.”

"Blood on the Sand has non-stop action and exclusive music tracks from me and the G-Unit that you won’t find anywhere else,” said 50 Cent. “Plus our fans will be able to play together with online co-op, and maybe even join me or one of the G-Unit online."

Whilst 50 Cent's fate has already been revealed, the same can't officially be said of the other brands as of yet.
