Vivendi Games confirms 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand for release on the Xbox 360 and PS3 this autumn...

Vivendi Games has officially announced the second 50 Cent game, Blood on the Sand, which will be released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this coming autumn. 2 player online co-op has also been confirmed for the title with drop-in, drop-out features.

Utilising Epic's UE3 tech, the surroundings and plotline of this latest 50 Cent game will be entirely different from Bulletproof, with the first set of screens revealing exotic desert-style locales. Aaron Blean, a Producer at Vivendi Games, told MTV News, "I would say it's inspired by Three Kings meets Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels."

50 Cent will be followed by a G-Unit partner throughout Blood on the Sand, which acts as the open slot for players to jump in and out of for co-op play. Vehicle sections have also been adapted for 2 player co-op as Blean promises a Humvee section with both a gunner and driver, as well as a helicopter section.

Vivendi has also confirmed the return of the scoring mode that had to be unlocked in Bulletproof, but will be a much more focal feature in Blood on the Sand. As with Bulletproof, this sequel will contain a host of exclusive music content from 50 Cent himself and the rest of G-Unit.

Blean was also optimistic for the improvements that have been made to the series: "The first thing people are going to notice right out the gate is - not only the visuals and how incredible the environments and the game models look - I would also say the controls and the AI will be much, much better than the first game."

50 Cent: Blood on the Sand is in development at English outfit, Swordfish Studios.
